Motorcycle Vacations, Motorcycle Trip Planning
Each year, for the past 5 years, I have planned a motorcycle trip that I go on with several of my close friends. This helps me get feedback on how the motorcycle trip was planned, accommodations, routes taken and the motorcycle trip experience. We have taken motorcycle trips to Niagara Falls, Skyline Drive, Civil War battlefields in Virginia, Lake Erie and the Mountains of West Virginia. In each case, the routes I used, accommodations and participant experience were exceptional. When I plan a motorcycle trip, I sit down with a map and find routes that enhance the rider experience and really give a flavor of the area we ride through. I do not just pick the quickest route there like some motorcycle trip planners do. I'll take you through parts of the country that give a real sense of what the area is like.
Motorcycle Trips, Motorcycle Trip Planners
The West Virginia motorcycle trip pictures are from a motorcycle vacation we took in May 2007 to Elkins, WV (what an awesome area of the country to ride motorcycles). We stayed at Graceland Inn and Conference Center on the campus of Davis-Elkins college. I suggest, during the course of your next motorcycle trip planning that you include this B&B as your base of operations.
Motorcycle Trip Pictures
The Skyline Drive pictures are from a motorcycle vacation we took in September of 2007 to Front-Royal, VA. We stayed at the Strassburg Inn in Strassburg, another beautiful facility that I highly recommend.
Motorcycle Vacation Planning
The Erie pictures are from a trip we went on in September of 2008. On the trip we stopped at Presque Isle Wine Cellars and Mazza Chautauqua Cellars. The day was capped off with a view of the sun setting on Lake Erie. If you are looking for a great ride and some beautiful countryside, I highly recommend a trip to this region.
Motorcycle Tours, Vacations and Planning
The West Virginia 09 pictures are from a trip we went on in June of 2009. We stayed at Smoke Hole Resort, an absolutely beautiful facility located iin the Seneca Rocks region of West Virginia. Our hosts were Jerry and Janet Hedrick, the owners of Smoke Hole Resort. While at Smoke Hole Resort, we were treated to home-cooked meals and hospitality beyond our expectation. The owners treated us like family and went out of their way to make our stay a pleasent one. Our tour took us through the Monongahela National Forest. The scenery in this part of the country is simply spectacular and should be a "must see" for one of your trips.
I encourage you to look at the motorcycle trip pictures and enjoy the scenery!
